Training methods

Kyusa employs a highly participatory learning approach that engages the participants while challenging them to think creatively and critically. The staffs facilitate the learning process while participants are empowered to take charge of their learning process. Participants are nurtured to become lifelong learners which are a key ingredient in growing and thriving in any given career. Participants learn through mini lectures, group discussions, buzz groups, case studies, field tours, mentoring and apprenticeship.


Kyusa uses a rigorous assessment, evaluation and monitoring system that not only captures the program flow and progress of the participants but also tracks the impact of the program in the lives of the alumni for at least three years after they graduate from the program.

In order to graduate from the program, participants must complete course works and hand in assignments for each of the modules. Assignments help the participants continue to define their interests and plans as well as set them up for success when looking to start a venture or for employment.

After graduation, students participate in alumni meetings where they update the organization and each other on their progress, network and support each other. Participants will be expected to train peers in their communities even as they grow their businesses.

Program outcomes

At the end of the program, participants go through a formal graduation ceremony which boosts their self-esteem, self-worth and confidence.

By the end of the program participants have developed business plans for their ventures, personal brands, social media profiles, written CV’s, personal biographies and cover letter templates. Participants have developed self-esteem, communication skills, leadership skill, team work and self-management skills.
